Cloud-based productivity platform for document creation, communication, collaboration, and personal file storage. The service forms the common foundation for several IT services at Jade University.
Jade University uses Microsoft 365, licensed through the Microsoft Campus EES (federal agreement). The service includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint, among others. Employees receive an A3 or A5 license depending on their role; students can use Microsoft 365 Education free of charge. All employees may also install Office on personal devices for work purposes. The service must be activated in the eIDentity Portal (User Administration (SECID-UADM-1.0)). Devices in PC Network System (WORK-PCVS-1.0) receive Office LTSC via ZENworks instead.
Please Note:
When activating Microsoft 365, personal data is transmitted to Microsoft. This requires user consent.
Jade University user account (User Administration (SECID-UADM-1.0)). Activation in eIDentity Portal required: eIDentity Portal → 'Microsoft 365' → activate service.
Available applications:
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint – document creation (web and desktop)
- Outlook – email client, connected to Exchange Online (Email (COMM-EMAIL-1.0))
- Teams – communication, chat, video meetings, and collaboration Video Conference (COMM-VCS-1.0)
- OneDrive – personal cloud storage
- SharePoint – team sites and document libraries Jade Connect (Intranet) (COMM-JCONNECT-1.0)
License types:
- A3 (employees): desktop OS upgrade, Office applications
- A5 (certain roles): A3 + advanced security, compliance, analytics
- Microsoft 365 Education (students): free via institutional email address
All employees may also use Office on personal devices for work purposes. Installation is via the Microsoft 365 Apps Portal.
Note: PC Network System (WORK-PCVS-1.0) devices receive Office LTSC via ZENworks instead – they do not use the M365 Apps Portal download.

Login: use email address as username (firstname.lastname@jade-hs.de or @student.jade-hs.de), then password from university credentials.
Login troubleshooting:
- Wrong password: go to office.com and log in with university credentials
- Other issues: clear browser cookies
