Central management of work PCs in a shared server environment, ensuring consistent software and service provisioning across all locations.
The PC network system integrates desktop PCs and virtual desktops Virtual Desktops (WORK-VD-1.0) into a centrally managed server environment. It provides file, print, and plot services and ensures fully automated software distribution via ZENworks Configuration Management. All workstations receive a uniform drive structure (Data Drives (STORE-DRIVES-1.0)) and the same software offering, regardless of location. New devices are delivered fully preconfigured.
Desktop PC with Windows 10/11 64-bit, LAN connection to the university network. Integration requires re-installation – contact PC Service (WORK-PCT).

- Data Drives (STORE-DRIVES-1.0) – drive structure planning, permission management
- Print services – printer provisioning PRINT-PRINT
- Imaging – network-based automated OS installation via PXE boot
- License servers – 2 global + 3 site-specific (SPSS/IBM, AutoCAD/Autodesk, Mathcad Prime/PTC, LabVIEW/NI)
- PRINT-MFD – print/copy/scan
- Plot services – plotter provisioning PRINT-PLOT
- Software distribution – via ZENworks software menu Software (APPS-SW-1.0)
- Webfiler – access data drives via web browser
- WSUS – Windows Server Update Services for pool rooms
Supported imaging hardware (selection):
Dell OptiPlex (5000–7090), Dell Precision (3630–7920 Tower), Dell Latitude (7440, 7450), Dell Pro (13/14/Max/Micro/Slim/Tower Plus).
Notebooks cannot be integrated – use virtual desktops instead. Integration requires re-installation and special permissions – contact PC Service.
WARNING: Imaging deletes all data irretrievably. Since NVMe SSDs + Windows 11: UEFI mode only.
